Overview

MyFixY Academy ("we", "us", "our") runs AI training cohorts (Free, ElitePro, and Cohort Alpha) for students in Nigeria and abroad. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit myfixy.app or enrol in a cohort, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

• You give it to us directly — name, email, phone/WhatsApp number, city, and payment details when you apply, enrol, or contact support.
• Automatically, as you browse — IP address, device/browser type, pages visited, and referral source, via basic site analytics.
• From your use of the cohort — assignment submissions, live-call attendance, portfolio pieces, and outreach evidence needed to assess the ElitePro outcome guarantee.

How we use your information

We use your data to:

• Process applications, enrolment, and payment (in NGN or USD).
• Run the cohort — grading deliverables, tracking checkpoints, and issuing certificates.
• Communicate with you about your cohort, schedule changes, or support requests.
• Publish student outcomes (earnings, testimonials) on our Stories page — only with your explicit, separate permission, never by default.
• Improve the curriculum and the site, using aggregated, de-identified usage data.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of cookies for essential site functionality (remembering your session, filter selections) and lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Payment data

Card payments are processed by Paystack or Flutterwave; international payments via Wise or Payoneer. We never store your full card number — payment processors handle that under their own security standards (PCI-DSS compliant).

When we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Payment processors, to complete a transaction you've initiated.
• Mentors assigned to your domain, limited to what's needed to support your cohort work.
• Law enforcement or regulators, only if legally required to do so.

Data retention

We keep enrolment and academic records for as long as your alumni account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for certification verification. You can request deletion of your data at any time, subject to records we're legally required to keep (e.g. payment history).

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Send you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your data, once any legal retention requirements are satisfied.
• Withdraw permission for your story/testimonial to be published.

Children's privacy

MyFixY Academy is intended for learners aged 16 and above. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 16; if you believe a minor has enrolled without appropriate consent, contact us and we'll investigate.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever this policy changes materially, and where the change is significant, we'll notify active students by email.
